Hi, I’m PEPE MELAN.

PEPE MELAN lives in southern California and has worked as a freelance artist since 1987. His art style is a mix of comic book art, surrealism, and urban art. Through the years his talent has earned credit on among other things, the cartoon P.J. Funny Bunny and as a graphic designer for Glam Slam the musical artist Prince Night Club. Currently, he is working on expanding his company 858 PM Studio by producing the supernatural comic series TALES OF TWISTED FATE.

My Approach

In my art, I like to capture the spirit of the modern day myth. My subject matter is inspired by comic books, mythology, movies & music. The images start out as pencil on paper and transferred to various surfaces such as illustration board, cloth or wood. The final illustrations are brought to life through acrylics, markers, ink, colored pencils and digital paint.
